Abingdon got revenge with a 4-1 win over the Bearcats. Virginia High was
only able to manage three hits off two Falcon pitchers. Two of the
Bearcats hits came in the first inning and the bats stayed quiet as VHS
did not get another hit until the seventh. Virginia High's lone run came
from an error, a passed ball and an RBI grounder. Staring pitcher Kalan
Mabe was tagged for three hits, two of which were extra bases. Mabe gave
up three runs in his three inning appearance. Robbie Stout pitched in
relief giving up no hits but four walks in the fourth inning gave the
Abingdon team an additional run. Virginia High will close out the
regular season next week with two critical district match-ups. VHS will
visit Lebanon on Tuesday and host John Battle on Friday.
