Virginia High clawed past Lebanon with a 10-3 Clinch Mountain District
win to set up a showdown in the final regular season game against
district leader John Battle. Brandon Arnold knocked a double and a
single and scored three times for the Bearcats. Arnold reached base four
times. Casey Stallard also had a double and a single while Robbie Stout
added a pair of hits. Kalan Mabe earned the win and also belted a
double. Dylan Sullins had a two RBI base hit. Mabe gave up a run in the
first off two hits and then settled ion with six strikeouts and no hits
over the next three innings. Freshman Hunter McCall relieved and gave up
two runs. Virginia High will close out the regular season against John
Battle on Friday. The Bearcats will honor the seniors in their final
regular season home game and attempt to close out with a tie for first
place and a co-championship with a win over John Battle.
