Bearcat bats quiet as Vikings win 5-2 in Big Six Tournament

4/02/08 Virginia High's bats remained quiet in a 5-2 loss to cross-town rival Tennessee High in the Big Six Tournament. The Vikings opened the game with two runs from three hits in the first inning and put three more runs up in later innings by getting the hits when needed. Virginia High on the other hand could not manage to put hits together scattering four hits for the night. Kalan Mabe scored in the first inning with help from a Viking error and Brent Davenport scored in the fourth after belting a leadoff double. Mabe took the loss on the mound. VHS will next face Sullivan East on Thursday night.
