Virginia High falls 2-1 to Tennessee High for third straight loss

4/5/10 Virginia High allowed two unearned runs to cross the plate in the sixth inning to allow Tennessee High to escape with a 2-1 victory. The Bearcats have now lost three straight games. Both teams fought hard and the game remained scoreless until the Bearcats broke through in the bottom of the fifth with a run. Brandon Nave led off the inning with a double and pinch runner Lance Jessee moved  to third on a bunt single by Cody Read. Jessee then scored on Clint Chafin's single. The Vikings put a pair of runners on base with an error in centerfield allowing the tying run to move to third and then scoring on a wild pitch. The go ahead run moved to second and then scored on a fly ball to center and a muffed relay. Dylan Sullins took the loss on the mound working all seven innings and giving up seven hits.
