Virginia High's 2011 season ended with a disappointing 3-2 loss to JJ
Kelly in the semi-finals of the Region D Tournament. The Bearcats struck
quickly in the first inning with leadoff singles by Dale Stine and Clint
Chafin followed by a base on balls and VHS had bases loaded with no
outs. Josh Paolucci put the Bearcats on the board with an RBI single and
another run crossed on a groundout to give the Virginia High team an
early 2-0 lead. Paolucci took the mound for the Bearcats and kept the JJ
Kelly team at bay for four innings. VHS failed to supply any more
offensive punch and the JJ Kelly bats came alive in the fifth. VHS gave
up three runs and the lead and were unable to show any more life in
their bats to close out the 2011 season.
